I haven't got the movie but if nobody else gets the line it could be a setting on your player or the tv. For Kwai it only shows 16 X 9.Īccording to The Bridge on the River Kwai is 4k so I was surprised the resolution numbers were not displayed but maybe the disc is just programmed that way. It even shows this for blu-ray discs such as Lawrence of Arabia and Mad Max Thunder Road. For UHD discs it indicates 3,840 X 2160 and 16 X 9. Wth the Sony, I can press "Display" and it will show the resolution and screen ratio. I am wondering if people using other players are getting this band? I thought that maybe the disc was defective so I exchanged it for another one but same white band. There is a white band at the bottom of the screen which I did not see on any other 4K or blu-ray that I played. ![]() The picture is better than the blu-ray but not significantly and varies from scene to scene. I also own the blu-ray boxed collector's edition. One of the 4K discs that I bought was The Bridge on the River Kwai. Specifically the Sony 75X 900E and the Samsung UBD-M9500. I got my new 4K television and 4K player yesterday. Loud noise can definitely spike my T as can poor sleep, stress, etc. I've busted out the sound meter to get a good idea of that level of sound and honestly, it's loud enough at that point! I went to a wedding reception a while back and had to wear ear plugs as it was so fricken' loud. On any rate, I try not to exceed 90 db peaks for a 2 hour movie to be safe. I do have some slight hearing loss, but it's pretty bad at very high frequencies. But it sucks and is related to hearing loss, however, my doctor doesn't think that was my case (probably a former infection or virus) but loud noise is often the case. I'm only 7 months into it and it can take up to two years to work. ![]() I started doing TRT (same thing William Shatner did to cope - in fact, I visited the same doctor who developed the therapy) to help habituate to it. The other half of the time it's so low that I barely notice it and it doesn't bother me thankfully. It's 24/7 and there are no meds or anything you can do other than try and habituate to it. The ringing/buzzing is so loud half of the time that I can hear it in the shower. I developed Tinnitus about three years ago.
